Train your soccer mind The game is won before you touch the ball

IQ FC trains the part of the game that happens before the ball arrives — reading the press, seeing the switch, knowing your exit before you're under pressure. Every session is measured: your decision speed, your scan rate, tracked from Day 1 so you watch yourself get faster, not just older. 10 minutes a day. Your phone and a wall — no club required.

One question.
Five seconds.

A real question from Day 1. Read the game the way IQ FC trains you to — then see how fast you decided.

That's one of 240+ across the full curriculum — each one measuring how you read the game.

The Gap Nobody Is Closing

Every club trains the feet.
Nobody trains the brain.

Ball mastery, shooting, fitness — every platform covers these. Game intelligence — the cognitive skills that actually separate elite from average — nobody teaches systematically. Until now.

Typical Youth Player
5–8s
Typical gap between head checks for developing players. Most scan reactively — only when they feel pressure. The information arrives too late to act on.
Elite Midfielder
1–2s
Published eye-tracking research (Geir Jordet's studies of elite midfielders) shows the best players check their surroundings every 1–2 seconds — automatically. The highest rate ever recorded: Xavi, at 0.83 scans per second. That's not talent. That's a trained habit.
With IQ FC
30d
Module 1 builds scanning the same way any physical skill gets trained — daily deliberate practice, starting Day 1. Six more modules follow: the mental game, reading the press, switching, transitions, film analysis, your position.
Without It
Years
Without structured cognitive training, players develop these habits through years of trial and error — if they develop them at all. Most competitive youth players never close the gap.

IQ FC closes the gap between how your player plays and how they think.

It exists because a father of two competitive youth players in Calgary kept seeing the same pattern: clubs building brilliant feet on heads-down players — kids with elite footwork who don't see the field, then spend their teens catching up on the thinking side, when habits are hardest to change. Scanning, reading, deciding early are habits — and habits are cheapest to build young. 10 minutes a day now, so the complete player shows up years ahead of schedule.

The Curriculum

6 core modules.
One complete mind.

Six core modules every player builds, plus a Position Masterclass for the role you actually play — with full match intelligence (Module 8) coming next. Each features elite pros, daily lessons, quizzes, and backyard drills.

The Method

10 minutes a day.
A permanent habit.

Built on spaced repetition research. One session per day — the science of habit formation requires it. Players who rush ahead skip the consolidation that makes the skill permanent.

🎬
Watch
Study an elite pro player executing the specific skill. Modric scanning. Pirlo under pressure. Bonmati reading space.
🧠
Quiz
Answer specific questions about what you just watched. Every answer is timed — your decision speed is measured and tracked, day over day.
Drill
The Number Game. Box breathing. Body reset. Real reps — ball, wall, backyard — five minutes long, built so the habit shows up on Saturday, not just in the app.
📊
Score
Self-score your drill and see your decision-speed delta on the progress bar. Week 1 vs Week 4 — the improvement is visible. That comparison is the most motivating moment in the app.
🔥
Repeat
Come back tomorrow — a new challenge unlocks each day. One session per day, because the habit forms in the repetition, not the single session.

For Parents

Built for your player.
Safe for your peace of mind.

IQ FC is a training tool, not a social app. Here's exactly how it treats your child.

🔒
No account, no password
Your child just picks a name and plays. We never ask for an email, phone number, or birthday.
📱
Their data stays on their device
Progress and scores are saved on the phone, not sent to us. Read our plain-English privacy policy.
🚫
No ads. No chat. No strangers.
A closed training tool — nothing to buy inside, no messaging, no one to talk to. Just the lessons and drills.
🎯
Real skill, not screen time
Ten minutes a day, then the drill happens on a real pitch or in the backyard. The phone points them outside.
Is my child's data safe?
Yes. We collect no personal information — no email, no location, no photos. Everything lives on your child's own device, and clearing the browser erases it. Full details on our privacy page.
Isn't this just more screen time?
It's ten minutes with a hard stop — then it sends them outside. Half of every day is a real drill with a ball, off the screen. There's no feed, no ads, no strangers, nothing to scroll. It's the rare app that ends on purpose.
FAQ

Questions,
answered.

Everything worth knowing before you start — whether you're the one playing or the one signing up.

What will actually change in my game?
Honestly: we train habits, not outcomes — so we won't promise goals, trials or scouts. What we will say is what the habits look like when they take hold, usually inside a month of daily reps.

You stop watching the ball and start checking the field before it reaches you. You arrive in the right place earlier, because you saw it earlier. You pick the simple pass instead of the panicked one. And after a mistake you reset in seconds instead of disappearing for ten minutes — that one shows up off the pitch too, and it's the change parents mention most.

You don't have to guess whether it's working: the baseline you set in week one gets retested at graduation, in your own numbers.
What does "IQ FC" stand for?
FC is "Football Club" — the letters real clubs wear, like FC Barcelona. IQ FC is a football club for soccer IQ: the scanning, game-reading and quick decisions that separate good players from elite ones. Your club trains your feet. This club trains your mind.
What age is IQ FC for?
Competitive players 12 and up — there's no upper age limit. It rewards one trait above all: self-direction. Nobody stands over the ten minutes checking it got done — the player opens it, does it, and closes it themselves. Kids who already put in extra reps on their own get the most from this, fastest; kids who need a coach standing over every session will need more reminding here too. Keen younger players who read well get plenty from it as well.
Does the drill actually happen on the field, or is it all in the app?
The lesson and quiz take about five minutes on the phone — then the app sends the player outside. Every single day ends with a real drill: a ball, a wall, a backyard, or the training ground. Nothing in IQ FC is designed to be finished sitting down. The habit gets built in the rep, not the reading.
Does soccer IQ training actually work?
The thinking side of football is trainable — that's the whole premise. Published eye-tracking research on elite midfielders found the best players check their surroundings every 1–2 seconds, automatically; it's a built habit, not a gift they were born with. The same is true of the skills in every other module: reading a press, spotting the weak side, staying composed after a mistake, watching film like a coach. These are patterns a brain learns through repetition, the same way it learns an instrument.

And we don't ask you to take it on faith. You log a measurable baseline in your first week and retest at graduation — across every module, not just the first. You see the climb yourself, in your own numbers.
What does a day actually look like?
One idea, taught with a moving tactics board — narrated out loud, for players who'd rather listen than read. Then a quick quiz that explains every answer, right or wrong. Then one real drill: ball, wall, backyard or training ground. Ten minutes, done.
Why is each module 30 days?
Because a habit isn't built in a weekend. A little every day for a month is how scanning and decision-making become automatic — the same way you'd learn an instrument, not cram for a test.
How much time does it take each day?
About 10 minutes: a short lesson, a quick quiz, and one drill to do at training or in the backyard. Quick enough to keep the streak, real enough to matter.
I play defence — or in goal. Is this for me?
Yes. Modules 1–6 train what every position needs: scanning, composure, reading the press, switching play, transitions, and film analysis. Module 7 is a masterclass in your exact position — Central Midfield, Striker and Defender are live now, with Winger and Goalkeeper coming.
What happens if we miss a few days?
Nothing breaks. Progress never resets — the next day simply waits. Streak freezes cover short gaps automatically, and catch-up days let a busy week recover up to three days in one sitting. Life happens — the app is built for it.
Do I have to do the modules in order?
Yes — each one builds on the last (scanning first, then the mental game, then reading the press, and so on). Everyone starts at Module 1, Day 1, and the next unlocks when the last is done.
Can I work on more than one module at once?
No, and that's on purpose. One skill at a time, one day at a time, is what makes it stick — and it keeps the daily habit simple instead of overwhelming.
Phone, tablet, or computer?
Any of them — it runs in the web browser, nothing to download. Most players use a phone. They can add it to their home screen so it opens like a normal app.
What's included for free?
The first week of Module 1, for everyone, no credit card. And the first 20 founding players keep all of Module 1 free, forever.
What does it cost after the free week?
A Season Pass is $39 USD a year — that's every module, including the ones still being written, unlocking automatically as they release. Individual modules are $10 USD each if you'd rather buy one at a time. Six modules (180 days) are live today, with more coming through the year; founding-price buyers keep their rate.

We're in founding beta, so checkout isn't automated yet — email hello@iqfc.ca and we'll set you up personally. No subscription traps, no auto-renew surprises.
Do they need equipment or a partner?
Just a ball and a wall for most drills. Every drill has a solo version, so no partner is ever required — though many are more fun with a teammate.
How do I get help?
Email hello@iqfc.ca — it reaches the person who builds IQ FC directly, and your feedback genuinely shapes what gets built next.
